Favorite Candy I Ate As A Kid
I am 51 years old and a big part of my childhood was spent at the Little League Field. My dad was president of the Little League for many years and my brother played baseball and my sister and I played softball. Many happy days were spent at the concession stand, with money begged from our parents. It was such a hard decision when we saw all the containers of candy, which one to choose today? We could hardly wait to eat the candy buttons and I can still taste the hot dog bubble gum and Neccos. Oh and then there were Sixlets and Snowcaps! and sucking down all the juice in the wax NikLNip bottles. My friends and I would wear our candy necklaces and see who would eat theirs all up first. We would sneak under the bleachers with our candy "cigarettes" and pretend we were smoking. Since my dad had to "lock things up" at the end of the night, us kids would be there until the lights were turned off. It is one of the happiest memories of my childhood and those many trips to the concession stand for all the great candy bring back such good memories. Many friendships and "first loves" began at that Little League Field and I can't think of it without remembering the candy of my childhood. Wouldn't it be great to go back in time for just a day to experience it all over again?
