Doscher's French Chew Taffy is an old fashioned taffy, available in 4 flavors. Choose from Banana taffy, Chocolate taffy, Strawberry taffy or Vanilla taffy. This french chew is very similar to the old time favorite Bonomo's Turkish Taffy.

French chew taffy has been around for over 100 years and today it is still be made the same exact way right down to the original copper kettles.

This melt in your mouth taffy, may be a bit hard to find as it is not nationally distributed. It can be a bit easier to find in the mid west or on the east coast, however we can ship it right to your door.

French Chew which is very similar to Bonomo's Turkish Taffy has been around for over 100 years. Yet today it is made the exact same way with the same melt in your mouth taste.

Claus Doscher came to Cincinnati from Germany. In 1871 he created Doscher's Candies. Claus first started out in sugar and candy wholesale business, but then decided he wanted to make candy.

He bought his first piece of equipment; a popcorn machine. After making just plain popcorn he decided try a flavored popcorn. He started with caramel making a delicious caramel corn. At the same time Baseball had just become a sport and Claus's new caramel popcorn was being sold by the very first professional baseball team, The Cincinnati Redstockings.

In the late 1890's a new candy that was being introduced in Europe and becoming very popular - Taffy. Claus decided he wanted to give it a try and bought a big shiny kettle. After making several batches he perfected his recipe. He first made is taffy in a slab that was then broken up in tiny pieces and sold by the pound. Mr. Claus was very successful with his taffy, he then decided to make it into a candy bar and named it the French Chew.

Although many years have passed since this nostalgic candy was first manufactured, however it still being produced with the original recipe and still in Cincinnati,OH. French chew is one of the best tasting taffies on the market today. Whether you like banana, chocolate, strawberry or vanilla you won't go wrong with French chew and it has only 1gm. of fat per bar.
