Remember all the cool Halloween costumes you had back during your Trick or Treating days? Some were store bought, some were made up. Back then, Trick or Treat was actually on Halloween night. Three to four hours of you and your friends ruling the streets. You knew who's house to make sure and visit, and who's to stay away from. We'd cover about five square miles during the night. At least it seemed like it.
The couple in town who owned the bakery handed out fresh baked cookies, one lady made popcorn balls, and some people gave us nickels or pennies. Alot of what we got in our bags were the great candies we feature on the pages of our store. Some of my favorites were the nik-l-nip bottles, marshmallow cones, lik-m-aid which is real close to fun-dip.
Halloween Safety Tips
• Make sure your child’s costume fits well. Make sure it is not to long so it doesn’t drag on the ground making it easy for tripping. Have the right size mask or use face paint instead allowing your child visibility.
• Never let your children Trick of Treat alone. IF under the age of 10 make sure there is parent supervision. If over the age of 10 make they go in a group.
• Trick or Treat in familiar areas.
• If dark out don’t forget to give your child a flash light also add some reflective tape to the costume so drivers can see them
• Also stay on the sidewalk, go only to those houses with lights on. When crossing the streets cross at the corners and also walk don’t run so drivers can see you.
• Check all of you child’s candy before eating to make sure there was no tampering.
• Limit the amount of candy eaten at a time to avoid tummy aches.
